Description
This hunting and shooting jacket is inspired by the classic Norfolk jacket, which dates back to the British hunting tradition (read more below). However, we have modernized the design in several ways. Instead of the original tweed fabric, it is crafted from exclusive and supple goat suede with a durable, waxed finish. A well-thought-out design created to last for a long time, becoming only more beautiful with time, proper care, and use. The jacket is adapted for tougher weather conditions and light rain, and it will develop a beautiful patina over time.
We have also added a quilted and lightly padded chest and shoulder area to help reduce recoil when shooting. The sleeve reinforcements are specially cut and executed in a contrasting color, giving the jacket an exclusive look. The model features adjustable straps on the sides and back that accentuate the waist.
The single-breasted jacket has five buttons at the front and can be worn in two different ways. With all buttons fastened, the collar and lapels can be folded up for a more traditional hunting-inspired look. Alternatively, the collar and lapels can be worn folded down, more like a classic blazer, with only the waist button fastened.
For increased freedom of movement, the jacket has a center back pleat as well as pleated shoulder sections. Dual back vents provide additional flexibility and good mobility. The two lower bellows pockets are designed for ammunition and can hold a full box of cartridges. The model also features a piped pocket with an elastic cartridge band on the inside.
The jacket is half-lined with a plaid cotton flannel lining.
About the Norfolk jacket
There are several theories regarding the origin of the Norfolk jacket. One of the most established theories is that the design originated from Henry Fitzalan-Howard, the 15th Duke of Norfolk, who is said to have developed the jacket as hunting attire in the late 1860s.
